Zero-hours workers qualify for SSP from day one of sickness absence, regardless of earnings. SSP is paid at the lower of 80% of average weekly earnings or the flat rate (currently £123.25/week), for up to 28 weeks. Auto-enrolment pension applies if earning over £10,000/year and aged 22+.
