UK National Minimum Wage (2025): £12.21/hour (21+), £10.00/hour (18-20), £7.55/hour (under 18)
? For zero-hours workers, overtime typically means enhanced rates for unsociable hours (evenings, weekends, bank holidays).

🏖️ Holiday Pay

Legal Requirement: Zero-hours workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks' paid holiday per year (pro-rata to hours worked). This is typically paid using the 12.07% accrual method.
? 12.07% accrual means 12.07% is added to each payment to cover holiday entitlement. Alternatively, you can allow workers to request paid leave when they don't work.

🥼 Sick Pay & Pension

? Zero-hours workers qualify for SSP (£118.75/week, up to 28 weeks) if they earn over £123/week and meet the qualifying conditions. Most zero-hours workers receive statutory SSP only.
? Zero-hours workers qualify for auto-enrolment if they earn over £10,000/year and are aged 22+. If they don't qualify initially, they'll be enrolled once they meet criteria.
